TOM
Tom is a seasoned advisor in international business development. He recently returned to the U.S. after 5 years in China where he provided business, financial and transaction advice to clients ranging from in high tech, cleantech, creative industries and real estate. He is an angel investor in a software technology start up and was President of Executive Committee and Board member of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.

He gained his experience in international business development at Barco, DEME Group and Caterpillar - with Chrysler Mopar as major client. Tom is very versatile in different cultures and environments as well as in collaborations with various professions and experts. He has worked successfully with U.S. companies and has extensive experience in Europe and Asia.

For researching international affairs, he traveled extensively in the Middle East and Asia and published his documentary photography book "CARAVANSERAI – Traces, Places, Dialogue in the Middle East" (5 Continents Editions, Milan, 2012). He also completed a U.N. tour in Africa. Tom has a Master in Business Economics and Strategy from the University of Leuven, Belgium and Universidad de Barcelona, Spain. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Dutch and has a conversational level in Mandarin Chinese and German. He lives in Portland with his wife, Drieke and their two children.
